Design studio Kontrolka was founded by MgA Ondrej Velebny (CEO), an innovation and user design enthusiast.
His career began in advertising: in 2001, he worked as a graphic designer for the multinational advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather. The next milestone came in 2004 when Ondrej became a designer in a multinational software company where he focused on improving the usability and interaction between the software and users.
Ondrej aspired to become a leader in his field of expertise. That's why he decided to abandon a promising career to instead study interaction design at the elite Bezalel Academy of Arts in Israel, known as the best design university in the world.
During his 19-year career, he has run several start-up companies and designed countless HMI solutions for clients on 5 continents.
Ondrej was in charge of interaction design and user interface in a multinational software company, Sitronics Telecom Solutions. He was pioneering User Experience in the times when this field didn’t even have a name.
During Ondrej’s studies at the University of Tomas Bata, he enhanced his knowledge in the HMI field by successful studies of Interaction and User Experience design at the world-renowned Bezalel Academy of Arts in Israel.
Our academic project, an overall automotive user interface of the digital cockpit for the Skoda Citigo electric car, still leads the way in HMI, 10 years down the road. Based on the project’s success, Ondrej started cooperating with top designers from world-leading automotive companies.
Based on several successful projects, surrounded by his team of experts in the HMI field, Ondrej established the privately-owned company Kontrolka, located in the heart of Europe, Prague.
Kontrolka is a successful and well-established Czech company offering a wide range of services from visual identity, web design and 3D animation to designing digital user interfaces for 15 of the largest car manufacturers on 5 continents. Combining beauty and utility, our design is found in over 20 million units on the roads.
